The Universalift - portable 2 post car lift, was created on a whiteboard by Rick Nickerson the owner of North American Auto Equipment, as the first portable, adjustable, and hydraulically equalized two-post lift. The Universalift was Trademarked in 2015. The original patent application number 60/591,873 was filed on July 29, 2004.
