North American Auto Equipment is proud to be an Actual Stocking Distributor.
Being the highest volume Distributor of Automotive lifts on the internet has its challenges and North American Auto Equipment is up to the challenge. We strive to offer the highest quality as well as the lowest price on Automotive Parking Lifts, Automotive Service and Storage Lifts, Four Post Automotive Lifts, Two Post Automotive Lifts, Mid Rise Automotive Lifts and Scissor Lifts. Quality, Price and Availability are the keys to satisfying customers in need of a car lift. Our experience has shown us that consumers shopping for an Auto Lift are looking for an experienced factory trained staff that can offer assistance with lift selection and help find the lowest possible “Delivered” price. It is our feeling that anyone selling lifts on the internet should be asked the question: “Are you and actual stocking warehouse with forklifts or just a website developer”?
Like many industries in the United States, the automotive lift industry is rapidly losing “Actual Stocking Distributors”. The reason for this is “overhead”. That’s right folks, “actual stocking facilities” (like North American Auto Equipment) are now competing with home based marketers and office condominium professionals! These companies advertise products at or within 5% over cost. The problem that we all face as a result is consumers without warranties as a result of these short term marketers going out of business. Our parts and service department has been overwhelmed by consumers calling asking about companies like Panther Lifts, Pace Tools and Now American Automotive Equipment. When people made their purchases from these companies, they had no idea that these organizations were internet based companies. When these organizations died, so did the consumer warranties.
It costs more money to stock a product / have shipping and receiving team handling the actual products, than it does to simply put up a website and sell products from a cubical. That is why these types of companies never last.
Not all auto lifts are created equal. How is it possible that some lifts are made of 3/16” thick steel, utilizing UHMW slider blocks and rated at 9,000lb capacity and another lift with the same 9,000lb rating is constructed of ⅞” thick steel fork lift mast channels and 4” tempered steel with roller bearings? A lift is a lift right? They are all the same, just buy the cheapest thing you can find right? Maybe not. How is it possible that one 9,000lb lift can weigh 1,200lbs, A second 9,000lb lift can weigh 1,500lbs and another can weigh 2,400 lbs? But they are all the same right?
There are some crucial factors that become very important when making a car lift purchase; The thickness of the steel column, the length of the internal slider carriage, the size of the torsion tube, and the thickness of the steel in the arms. The tolerances that all of those components meet when they are fitted together, and how much play there is while the lifting process is happening. It all comes down to duty cycle. Some lifts have a 50-70% duty cycle for repeated use and others have a 100% duty cycle for repeated use.
Is the Lift importer backed by product liability insurance? Do they have bar coded components and warranty tracking or quality control? At North American Auto Equipment, we offer perfect-fit replacement components. For the past 8 years has been selling 1 brand from 1 factory. 98% of our Auto Lifts, Tire Changers, Wheel Balancers and Small Shop Equipment come from one place. Lately some of our competitors have decided to market products similar to ours.
They are advertising similar pricing to ours to bait you in and in some cases even using our photos to promote different manufacturers. In other words, they put up a picture of our lift, run a low price and then attempt to cross sell you “Perceived Better Product” at a higher price. They are baiting you in with confidence on one hand and switching you to another product. These types of operators always advertise a too good to be true price and then hit you with unrealistic freight rates. Another practice is tying up your money for 2 months, utilizing your upfront cash to finance or partially finance a truckload of lifts. Once an order is placed, you are to sign a contract that does not allow you to cancel your order. This contract also gives the vendor the ability to tie up your money if the order is late. Some companies that sell Auto Lifts online will not advertise the physical location of their business. Why? Answer: They are hiding behind a website. They are not an actual distributor. They are not a warehouse; they are in an office that is selling drop ship products from outside suppliers. They are not buying propane and paying dock workers. They are drop shippers attempting to undercut the real sweat equity operators like us. We can relate to our customers in the respective repair fields because we are hands on operators. We don’t pretend to be a shipping warehouse; we are an actual shipping warehouse.
We unload trucks and battle the elements; we load customer’s orders into their vehicles and onto their trucks under the worst conditions.
In addition to our ability to deliver, install or even repair Automotive Equipment, we also have the ability ship and Receive Automotive and Truck Frame Machines up to 25 tons. We have access to Crane Rentals and a Licensed Crane operator on-sight the heavy shipping.

Texas $1 Million Dollar Parts Dept.
Texas Unlimited Inventory - Estimated 5 Million Dollars.
Many of the companies that promote their products on line carry only one line of products and heavily push their own brand.
Another common practice you will find companies engaging in is Advertising a picture of one lift and shipping another.
Meaning they show some close up shots of a lift that is widely distributed and backed by a $1 Million Dollar Parts Depart and a solid warranty - but they are actually are shipping a product that looks similar, but likely and unknown copy that will not accept the replacement parts. This happens intermittently based upon how many customers call in to complain while waiting on a container. The people that don’t complain could wait 6-8 weeks, the customers the do complain simply get shipped what they should have received in the first place.
North American: we carry one import equipment line that is bar coded and quality control enforced. We offer Consistent Quality, Consistent Supply and Continuous Improvement. We carry American made products and Chinese made products as well as Italian, German, Canadian and others. One consistent Chinese Made line that is slightly higher priced, however, parts are in stock 99.9% of the time. We cannot afford to compromise our quality to meet the price of an unstable entity.
For as long as I have been doing this, there has always been one very important issue that has bothered me. I feel like everyone should be looking at their purchase this way, but unfortunately everyone doesn’t. The average person will spend anywhere from $1,500 to $6,000 dollars on a 2 post car lift and considerably more on a larger 4 post car lift. This piece of equipment lifts a vehicle 6 feet in the air, In addition, you are going to stand under it and work on the vehicle. Your life obviously depends on the quality of the welds, the quality of the steel and the character and integrity of the company that manufactures the product. The bottom line for most people becomes price. “What is the cheapest I can buy it for”? If an American equipment distributor wants to make the sale and make at least enough profit to keep the doors open, (so that they can properly service you should you have a problem) they have no choice but to sell you a product made in China. Whatever happened to smart shoppers? Smart shoppers have become price only shoppers. This philosophy might work with clothing but when it comes to a piece of equipment that your life depends on it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.
Most Mechanics own $10,000.00 tool boxes. Even my Sears Craftsman set has to be near $5k. It would make better sense to buy a lift that is truly rated for the work that it is being used for.
As we try to provide information to end users, we now use the internet. The problem that we see with search engine marketing is the fact that it rewards companies that use tactics to manipulate the rankings by having flashy content and a lot of redundant copy. Our goal from the beginning has been simple; tell the truth, don’t “oversell” the product (especially Auto Lifts) provide quality photos and close ups of the product and try to incorporate some decent video footage of the quality work that we do.
